Unlocking the Secrets to Stress Relief 🔓
Essential tools for a stress-free life awaits you inside
Hi friend,
Stress, as you probably already have recognized being alive on this planet for as long as you have…is unavoidable.
Stress seems like something we can’t quite get rid of…& while that may be true, we can at the very least learn how to respond to stress differently.
We can gift ourselves permission to meet our stress in a way that is more supportive and healing, rather than letting stress disempower & cripple us.
Stress can deplete your life force energy
How we handle our stressors IS what makes a difference & can impact the trajectory of the rest of our day, week, and life even.
When we let our stress go untamed & unaddressed— it has the potential to create dis-ease, causing havoc to our minds, our bodies, & our spirits. But we don’t have to let our stress control us…we can reclaim our power!
There are many different ways that we can learn to show up for ourselves & our stressors to help create more ease & calm in our lives.
One way is through the practice of mindfulness & meditation.
Ease through mindfulness + meditation
There are a wide range of benefits that can come from practicing mindfulness & meditation which can ultimately help bring our mind, body & spirit back into calm…back into alignment.
One mindfulness technique that can support this process is the “S.T.O.P” method—
When you feel stress ramping up in your mind, body, & spirit, you can turn to the STOP method to help recenter yourself out of the stress state & into a more calmer, centered, space instead —
Stop: Quite literally stop. Take a moment to pause and disengage from whatever stress-inducing activity you were experiencing.
Take a breath: Focus on your breath to anchor yourself in the present moment. Breathe into the heart, breathe out from the heart. Repeat as needed.
Observe: Notice the thoughts, the emotions, and the sensations you’re experiencing, without attachment….without judgment. Just simply notice what is happening right here, right now.
Proceed: After you’ve taken a moment to pause, to notice, & to feel….gift yourself permission to then choose a more mindful and appropriate response to your stress that will help to empower you instead. A few ideas:
You can invite positive words of love & safety your way.
You can gift yourself a warm loving hug.
You can gently rub your heart space or thighs.
You can continue to breathe deeply into your body, visualizing light coming through to revitalize you.
You can journal your experience.
You can call a trusted or loving friend/family member/ therapist/coach to help yourself further move the energy around.
Mindfulness when applied into meditation can be another practice that can be supportive in helping to alleviate stress.
Below I recorded a short mindfulness meditation for stress relief. I invite you to practice along & see for yourself what comes up for you.
