Hi friend!
I have a challenge for you.
Because if you’re like most ppl, then you probably like to be in control & you like to know what’s going to happen next.
The unknown feels icky.
It’s almost like if we could just know what to do, when to do it, if we can make sure what we’re doing is the right thing, and if we could just know what we’re doing is going to lead us to a happier more successful place then life would be glorious, right? There will be no worries.
But that’s not how life works.
There’s ALOT we don’t know.
Even when we think we know or even when we think we have so much control, life will show us otherwise.
And still we try to maintain control anyway. So what do we do?
…We find ourselves rushing around, trying to get a bunch of things done, or avoiding things, distracting ourselves, overwhelming ourselves — alll in efforts to “be in some level of control.”
But what if we can relax by letting go of the idea that we need to be in control?
This week, I challenge you — to sit with NOT knowing.
And so that means if you find yourself rushing or feeling overwhelmed, sit still for a couple minutes, & notice what it feels like to not know if you’ll be able to do everything.
& you can do the same thing when you feel yourself wanting to avoid or go to distraction. Yeah you can still do those things, but see if you can sit for a minute or two in the not knowing.
What can you notice? What new can you discover in the unknown?
Is this a practice you’re willing to take on?
