When things don’t go right, go LEFT.
A subtle way to make sure you’re ALWAYS on ‘track’ & WINNING
Hi friend,
Do you ever just feel like you’re behind in life? Like no matter what you try to do, you feel as if you’re not making any progress or growth & feel stuck or as if you’re losing somehow?
If so, how do you stay motivated to keep doing whatever it is you’re trying to do?
Or do you just give up for fear that you’re wasting your time?
Track your process —
A technique I learned in my life that has helped and continues to help keep me away from feeling as if I’m losing or behind is the self tracking technique. Below I’ll share what that is and why it’s helpful in hopes that it can help you too!
Self tracking is a mindfulness technique where you intentionally & deliberately take note of all that’ve accomplished from day to day, including the little wins. It’s a practice where you can document or keep “track” of all the little wins/accomplishments you set out for yourself on a daily & consistent basis & forms as a reference point that you can connect to whenever you feel you may need it.
This is helpful because it gets us to see all the progress we are in fact making from moment to moment. And so when or if we begin to get into a mental space where we feel like we’re losing ourselves, we can come back to alll that we’ve accomplished, which offers us space and time to reconnect to truth…. instead of feeding into the distortion our thoughts are trying to create.
The mind is constantly focusing on the negative —looking for all the things that can possibly go wrong.
This is natural and something that the mind just does in efforts to keep us safe.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
With conscious efforts, we CAN train our brains to see things differently… & we can begin to do this through the self tracking technique.
“A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected.”
For a moment…think of what you’ve accomplished yesterday or today, even if small.
It can be anything….
It could be just getting to work on time….or making your bed….or getting laundry done…anything.
How did it feel for you to accomplish that goal? Did you take time to honor yourself for that?
Did you celebrate you?
And if not….what would it be like to try it out now?
What if you took more time to give yourself love & appreciation for alll the things, even the small things, that you managed to get done in your life?
How would that feel?
Taking time to honor where ever we are in our lives, to appreciate the small wins, to celebrate the little things is key to keeping us motivated & driven to achieve our big goals that we set out for ourselves.
It can remind us as well, that we have the capacity to get things done when we want to! This builds resilience, self trust, self confidence, and above all— self love!
And so again….what is it that you can celebrate yourself for today? What is something you did today, even if small, that you can show yourself the love & attention you so very much deserve?
How could you explore this new practice of honoring yourself today?
