THESE 3 Things Are Holding YOU Back From Success
Rid these self defeating habits for 2021 & learn what you can start doing instead to cultivate a successful, mindful & happier life.
Wow can you believe it?
There’s only a few days left to 2020 & that’s it…then this year will be behind us forever.
And I imagine there’s a lot more you would like to leave behind in 2020 as well…like the pain & trauma you may have endured throughout this bizarre year.
Because you’re ready for new beginnings. You’re ready for positive change. You’re ready to step into 2021 feeling better & being better, right?
Well before you do so, you need to make sure you’re also letting go of these 3 things too —
Your negative habits of playing small (lack self belief)
Hiding out when the going gets tough (spiritual bypassing)
Avoiding fear of failure (letting fear control you)
In this email, we are going to talk about this and learn what to do instead so that you can make 2021 the best year yet!
let’s GET iNto It —
This year brought on many surprises, setbacks, challenges, pain, trauma, and so much more that we would of never expected. 2020 took many, if not all of us, by shock & I am sure I can speak for us all when I say, “goodbye forever 2020, bring on 2021 & new beginnings.”
But as I mentioned earlier, there’s a few things you need to be sure to really let go of and leave behind in 2020 if you truly are ready to step into the truth of your being.
Let’s talk about what those are & why it will be hurting your chances of any success or happiness if you continue to carry it on into 2021:
1) Lack Of Self Belief— playing small
For 2021 — I’d love for you to fully embrace your light. And in order to do this, you need to believe in your abilities, your skills, your talents, and in your power.
Do you find that this is something you struggle with though? Are you playing small in life? Do you hold back from speaking the truth, voicing your opinion, asking for what you want? If so, why? What lies are you believing that’s keeping you from playing BIG instead?
Awareness of self is key to understanding why you’re keeping yourself in a box.
Recognize what it is that’s holding you back. Do you find that you often say things like, “I cant” or “I’m just different,” or “I’m just too busy, there’s not enough time to really prove myself.?” Acknowledge these thoughts/beliefs. Get real with yourself. Tune in. And ask yourself some deep questions like—
-Where did these beliefs stem from?
-What feels true about them?
-How can you shift these thought/belief to something more self serving instead?
To heal you got to feel. That’s why creating a consistent daily practice (like meditation) is so effective because it can support you in this process of understanding self deeper. If you don’t know why you keep yourself limited, you will never grow, thus never experience what it’s like to feel successful or happy or at peace. Work this out so you can experience true new beginnings for 2021.
Affirm it:
“I am stepping into who I truly am because I am capable & worthy of experiencing greater things in life.”
2) Spiritual Bypassing — hiding from the truth
Spiritual bypassing happens when our faith and spirituality enables us or makes us think we can bypass some of the work we need to do internally in our lives. It’s this belief that makes us think we can jump through grief, jump through processing, and go straight to the end, making us believe that everything is okay…And that’s just not true.
It doesn’t matter how spiritual you are, there’s always more work to be done inside. And the more work you do, the more spiritual you become, the more connected you become to source or your higherself.
You cannot run or hide from this work. The healing happens when the inner work happens FIRST.
When we say these things like “everything happens for a reason,” or “ this was meant to happen,” for instance, we’re trying to protect ourselves, which makes sense, but it isn’t quite helping us. Instead it’s rendering our growth because it keeps us in this false sense of being and living. We’re protecting this illusion that we have around ourselves—saying or thinking that everything that happens to us can be explained. It makes us think that we never have to experience pain that we don’t deserve. Yet pain or challenges are inevitable; inescapable. And tbh life doesn’t always make sense. Things happen sometimes and there isn’t always a reason. And we have to be okay with that to really heal & ascend.
Other examples of spiritual bypassing or hiding from painful/difficult situations can also look like —
avoiding negative feelings
believing that meditation or other spiritual practices are always positive
focusing only on spirituality & ignoring the present moment
feelings of detachments
pretending that things are fine when they aren’t fine
thinking that you or others can overcome problems through positive thinking
thinking that you must rise above your emotions.
you say things like, “good vibes only.”
A better approach can be to fully embrace any and all challenges you go through and see them as what they are —challenges or things you’re going through. And allow the inner workings of your god or higher self or source to work through you, to help you, to create some sense or life lesson from what you experienced.
Let go of the tendency to want to hide when things get tough or challenging. Instead allow yourself to work through what you go through so that you can effectively grow through it.
It’s important to note that spiritual bypassing isn’t always a bad thing though. In times of severe distress, it can help us to temporarily relieve any frustration or anxiety we may be experiencing. It just becomes damaging when used as a long term strategy to suppress problems. It’s all about balance really.
Affirm it:
“I face all challenges and experiences I go through with full acceptance so that I can grow into my higher authentic & true self.”
3) Letting Fear Control you— avoiding fear of failure
Nobody enjoys failing. And that’s why so many of us try our best to avoid failing at all cost, even if the cost means preventing ourselves from ever truly growing or experiencing real transformational positive change.
Fear of failure keeps you from trying, creates self doubt, hinders any progress, and may lead you to go against yourself.
Some reasons (to name a few) to why many of us fear failure can be because of patterns from childhood, perfectionism, ego, false self confidence, pride.
If you’ve noticed that this is something you struggle with, try identifying the source to where your fear comes from, then reframe beliefs about this fear. Learn to think positive, visualize all potential outcomes, have a back up plan, & learn from whatever happens….AND THIS can be the key you need to overcome it.
Affirm it:
“I am courageous enough to take chances. My confidence in my abilities continues to grow. The road to success is being paved out for me.”
And that’s all for this week. I hope that this email serves you well so that you can really manifest the life you deserve, stepping into 2021 as the version of yourself you know you are meant to be.
