Hello & thank you so much for being here. I hope you’re well & that you’re having a good morning, or afternoon, or evening (depending on when you read this). Below is the new Overview Menu (OM) which simply lists an “overview” of what you’re getting in the email.
And so the “OM” of this week will be —
Insight into why running from your problems won’t ever make it go away…
A mnemonic tool I came up with that “AIM’s” to support you in being able to quickly solve your problems during any situation.
A mindful challenge you can take on this week.
So let’s dive right in…..
It’s Time To Do Something New
It’s time to do something new. You just know it. You feel it in your soul. Because you’re so tired of dealing with all the bullshit life keeps throwing your way. It’s like setback after setback and you feel like you can’t catch a break. You want it all to just stop so that you can be happy & live a peaceful life.
Yet, you don’t know what to do to get away from it all, so you just try to tune it out or better yet, run from it, even though you know it barely ever changes anything…
So if that’s you, you’re right. It is time you learned about something new…a new perspective that will help you aim towards a more peaceful, happier, & zen-like life…
And “Aim” is actually the perspective here. Aim, when used in this context, is a simple mnemonic that you can keep in mind anytime you are going through some kind of challenge or problem in your life.
Aim—broken down into a 3 step framework “aims” to help you make better decisions, feel more at ease, and ready to take on anything life throws at you.
Here’s the breakdown:
A- acknowledge the emotion you’re experiencing.
I- identify it’s trigger (the problem). M- make a choice on how you’d like to handle what’s happening, that’ll leave you feeling empowered & less overwhelmed.
And that’s it really…
“…you can’t escape your problems; You can run from them…but not forever.”
Aim is the power move to get you through your problems, instead of what you’re used too, like trying to get away from it.
Because the truth is, you can’t escape your problems; You can run from them…but not forever.
You gotta face your problem my friend. You must try to understand the problem. Come to a place of peace & stillness with the problem. Because otherwise the problem will always be there.
Really try to use this perspective. Even if it sucks. Even if you don’t want to do it. Even if you wish things can just be different or easier. Because if you want to heal, you need to feel. Remember, you can’t escape your problems.
It’s okay to be sad or feel however way you feel. The problem or setback or circumstance that you’re going through is a real barrier in your way right now and it matters.
At first it may feel easier to run away. It may get you feeling empowered, especially if you’re running from others. Running away may give you the idea that you can have a fresh start. New beginnings even. But how long does that last?
“When you run from your problems, you’re really only running from yourself.”
When you run from your problems, you’re really only running from yourself. You’re not allowing yourself the chance to explore or to understand why you feel as you do or think the way you do or do the things you do. And if you can’t understand why you feel the way you do or what triggered you even to feel the way you do, how can you ever live well?
Look within...what are you actually running from?
Is it people? Deadlines/something important you need to do? Negative thoughts/feelings?
Life isn’t what we expect it to be. Sometimes shit gets rough. And while we may not necessarily like or want friction in our lives, and would rather sail through this journey of life as smoothly as possible, it’s doesn’t always work out like that. And so when things do happen, we have to recognize that hiding or running will not make those things go away. It takes time & it takes action to get rid of it. That’s really the only way.
The choice is yours. Try & Aim to make the best decision because you deserve to live a beautiful life.
