How to spiral into control (find calm in chaos)
A meditation recording to practice calm even when the mind feels chaotic
Recorded guided meditation — “finding calm in chaos” (see disclaimer below) ~actual meditation begins at 1:45~
Hi friend!
When was the last time you truly felt peace and calm?
If it's been a while, what would you say is standing in the way of experiencing those moments?
Could it be that your mind, which runs a million miles a minute, is the main culprit, making it challenging to find that level of peace?
It’s interesting right? How the mind can sometimes turn life into a whirlwind of chaos, stress, and frustration…
The mind can almost feel like a constant storm, making it tough to find a moment of calm.
But what if I told you that within the chaos created by the mind, there's a pathway to peace?
—Enter mindfulness meditation—
The mind thinks…that’s what it does…always buzzing with ideas, reminders, plans, and worries. It's the minds way of keeping us "safe," always on the lookout to make sense of things & solve problems, whether real or perceived.
Even in those moments when nothing much is happening, the mind is at work, doing its thing.
Like ever notice how, especially during moments of apparent stillness, or when we’re getting ready to go to sleep how the mind kicks into high gear?
Now, think about meditation.
Ever tried sitting in meditation before? If so, then you've probably noticed how, it’s during those moments that the mind loves to stir the pot. And this is exactly what makes some beginners in meditation throw in the towel, thinking, "Meditation doesn't work for me."
…But, my friend, it's all about training.
Just like running strengthens the body, meditation is exercise for the mind.
You wouldn't expect to run a marathon after a short jog, right? It's the same for taming our noisy thoughts—it takes time.
In the beginning, it's normal to feel all over the place. Imagine it like walking a dog on a leash; sometimes, we need to gently tug to rein it in.
You can train your mind to settle down by noticing its chaotic thoughts, accepting them without judgment, and deliberately choosing to redirect your attention elsewhere.

So how do practices like mindfulness meditation help with a chaotic mind?
Endless Thought Loops:
The mind loves to loop around negative thoughts, creating a story spiral. Meditation helps break free, by gently guiding us back to the present moment.
Physiological Response to Stress:
Chaos in the mind manifests physically—tight muscles, shallow breath, a racing heart. Mindfulness meditation allows us to maintain internal stability, keeping our stress levels in check.
Overthinking and Anxiety:
Left unchecked, the mind can lead us down the rabbit hole of overthinking and anxiety. Mindfulness meditation provides a tool to observe these thoughts, choose a different path, and restore calm.
Would you like to practice what it’s like to unravel the chaos in your mind and embrace the tranquility that mindfulness meditation can bring?
If so, attached (see above) to this newsletter, I share a short & powerful guided meditation that I recorded.
Let us meditate & let us navigate this journey of finding calm within the chaos, together.
