The 5 biggest takeaways from the rest & reset retreat you may want to learn about
Hi friend,
If youβve been following me closely, then you know this past weekend was the rest & reset retreat.
This was also a unique experience as it was my very first time ever hosting a retreat.
And so for it being my first time, naturally I had no idea what to expect but now that itβs over & Iβm able to sit & reflect on it all β I am humbled & filled with so much gratitude knowing that it turned out to be exactly what it needed to be β time & space for true rest & reset.
βSometimes the most productive thing you can do for yourself, is relax.β β Mark Black
I would like to share with you 5 of the biggest βtakeawaysβ or βlife lessonsβ I was able to bring back with me from this retreat in hopes that it may be something you need to hear for yourself.
And so even if you werenβt able to attend the retreat this time around, thatβs okay. See if any of my insights speak to you or resonate with you. If so, great β apply it to your life. If not, thatβs okay too, you can simply leave it where it is.
Rest & Reset: The 5 Biggest Takeaways β
1. It is what it is β
Sometimes life will throw unexpected challenges at us, and a simple, yet effective tool we can use when these moments arise is to come back to the phrase: βit is what it is.β This phrase serves as a gentle & powerful reminder to accept things as they are when we can't change them, to stay present, and to find peace in knowing that not everything needs an immediate solution. Itβs also about letting go of unnecessary stress and focusing on what we CAN control, ultimately helping us stay grounded, centered and resilient in the face of life's ups and downs.
2. Not pushing it away β
Allowing yourself to acknowledge and not push away your emotions and thoughts is another valuable self-help practice. It helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your feelings, which can lead to better emotional regulation and overall well-being. Instead of suppressing or ignoring what you're going through, this approach of radical acceptance encourages you to instead face and process your emotions, which can essentially help lead you to healthier coping mechanisms and personal growth.
3. Just notice β
Be witness.Β Be curious. Just notice. This is yet ANOTHER valuable self-help tool because it encourages mindfulness and self-awareness. When we gift ourselves permission to just notice whatβs happening in our direct present moment, which involves observing our thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment or the need to immediately react, we create space for clarity, calm, & empowerment. Just noticing puts us back in the drivers seat.
4. Trust, embody, surrender β
Trusting yourself is the foundation for personal growth & transformation. When you can trust your inner wisdom, it means you have confidence in your abilities, your intuition, & in your decision making skills. Embodiment means fully experiencing what it is youβre experiencingβ¦which when you allow yourself the grace to be embodied, it can lead to better self awareness & emotional regulation. AND when you can surrender, which is not to be confused with giving up, but rather letting go of excessive control or resistance to life's natural flow β you ultimately create a state of flow for yourself which invites peace even in the midst of uncertainty.
5. Itβs okay for ALL versions of you to exist; witness them . You donβt have to become them β
We all have different aspects of ourselves. We can feel sad, happy, scared, nervous, shocked, annoyed all at the same time. And itβs so okay for all versions of us to coexist. We donβt have to let the way we are feeling in any given moment dictate or take control of the trajectory of our day or lives. We can instead observe these different versions of ourselves with compassion and understanding. This space of self-acceptance can lead to a more relaxed flow state, greater personal growth and a more balanced, authentic life.
These are just some of the many takeaways I was able to receive from this divine experience. And my only hope is by sharing what I took away, youβre able to apply these insights in however way fits best for youβ to help you in your own life journey of finding more spaciousness for restful energy & to reset anytime you may need to do so.
Sending you so much love & many blessings!
Namaste.
