Hi friend!!
I wanted to take a moment to share something special with you 😍
As you may have probably already known, I recently celebrated my 32nd birthday (06/09) and something this particular birthday offered me was an opportunity for deep reflection.
I was able to create a moment for myself to simply bask in the energy of gratitude and growth, & in that time & space, I decided to jot down 32 valuable life lessons that have helped to shape my journey of life thus far.
And because sharing is caring —I would like to share with you what I came up with.
** Note—These are merely lessons as experienced through the lens of my own perspective— so feel free to take what resonates, if any, & discard what doesn’t.**
32 life lessons on my 32nd birthday —
The greatest gift you can give yourself is the freedom & space to BE who you truly are.
Spend time w ppl who appreciate, accept, honor, & love you.
Stay away from people who always complain. They are energy vampires.
And stay away from people who always gossip. They are most likely gossiping about you.
Observe people's actions rather than believe what they say they will do.
When someone shows you their true colors, BELIEVE them. Actions speak louder than words.
Keep a small circle. It's better to go narrow & deep than wide and shallow.
Be gentle with yourself and talk to yourself like you’d talk to your best friend.
Eating healthy doesn't mean you are healthy if you’re constantly talking shit to yourself. You might as well eat McDonalds.
Feel your feelings, don't numb it. It'll only make it feel worse later. Feel it fully NOW, then gracefully let it go.
Practice open hearted curiosity over assuming you know everything. Ask more questions & and be willing to lean in and listen.
The best time is always now, as now is the only time that exists.
You're always one decision away from a totally different life.
How you spend your days is how you spend your life.
Wake up w a grateful heart. Make it a habit to say thank you to the universe for getting to wake up another day. Take note & appreciate what you do have in your life, even the small things. Practice gratitude & bask in the magic it can produce for you.
What you do or who you are behind closed doors, IS who you truly are.
Your perception is reality. If you want a better reality change your perception.
You’ll never be as young as you are now— do what you feel you are meant to do.
Slowing down is not some “nice” thing to do…it’s necessary for your wellbeing.
Fill your cup up first and honor your needs so that you can do the same for others without resentment.
The secret to “staying youthful forever” — add fun and play to everything you do.
Triggers are a ‘good’ thing because they will lead you towards what needs healing.
Going to retreats or spiritual gatherings or taking mushrooms are great but taking time & space to integrate is where true healing takes place. Don’t get caught up in the spiritual healing “trap.”
You can disagree with someone and still be respectful and loving towards them.
Meditation isn’t something you have to practice ….but you GET to practice meditation. BIG difference.
If you want ppl to trust you, trust yourself. If you want ppl to respect you, respect yourself. If you want ppl to accept you, accept yourself. It always starts with you!
The breath is medicine. It will offer you great insight into what it is you need to know about yourself in that moment. Listen...
Speaking of listening— listen to the whispers of your intuition— & trust its guidance.
Confidence is developed through showing up for yourself each n every day, getting out of your comfort zone, & keeping that momentum going.
Boredom is a result of being boring. Gtfu and do something lol.
Nothing changes, if nothing changes.
Healing or self development is not something you just do one time and then you’re done…nah, it’s a type of surrender that you undergo over n over n over n over n over n over again. Hold the faith. Trust in the process. And keep on keeping on babyyy.
These 32 life lessons have served & continue to serve as guiding principles in my own journey, and so I share them here with you as a means of appreciation for your existence and for being here, in support of my journey.
Life is a continuous learning experience, and I strongly believe that by reflecting on our own experiences and lessons, we can gift ourselves a deeper understanding of who we are & the world around us.
My CHALLENGE to you 🫵🏽
This week — see if you can take some time to yourself for self-reflection.
Consider the lessons life has taught you and the wisdom you have gained along the way.
You may find it amazing to see just how much we can learn from our own experiences and the people we meet.
And ofcourse I would love to hear your thoughts and any lessons you have learned on your own journey. So please feel free to reply to this email or you can share your insights on social media— I created a post on Instagram where I shared these 32 lessons & so if you like you can add on to it in the comment section.
Together, we can inspire and uplift one another.
Once again, thank you for being a part of my journey, my life, this newsletter…. and for your continued support.
Let's continue to embrace life's medicine with open hearts & minds, gifting ourselves alll the opportunities that will allow us to keep growing and learning.
Sending you so much love & so many blessings,
Namaste.
